Australian Model Paris Robert interview

So Paris tell us a little bit about yourself?

Well, I was born in Melbourne, but I have a bit of a mixed heritage. My mum is half Egyptian and half Greek and my dad is an aussie, therefore I am half Australian, a quarter Greek and a quarter Egyptian. I’m 17 years old and I got into modeling by being scouted at a shopping center by my personal manager, Greg Tyshing, who then placed me with London Management.

Where have you modelled overseas? Where's your favourite place?

I have only modelled in Paris, which was amazing! I stayed there for two months and in that time was given the opportunity and privilege to gain so much new knowledge. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back!

How does Australia compare to the international market? Which do you prefer?

I think that the Australian and overseas markets are so different. As expected, the aussie's appear to be a lot more laid back and relaxed. In regards to professionalism, I have nothing but good things to say about all my experiences both in Australia and abroad.

Who is your favourite international & Aussie designer?

My answer for this question is very boring, I don’t have one! Honestly I am someone who likes to find individual pieces of clothing I like, rather than a general brand or designer. I also like to be a bit individual in my clothing choices, so I love finding things in little random boutiques.

What big campaigns have you shot recently?

I shot the Paul and Joe campaign while I was in Paris and recently in Australia I have shot for Review, Miss Shop, Diavolina Shoes, Mossman, Jay Jays and there are more on the way!

Who is your favourite international and Aussie Model?

I honestly don’t have one. I think that there are so many talented and beautiful people out there, that it is so hard to pick just one.

If you could score any campaign throughout the fashion industry world-wide, what would it be and why?

I would love to do a campaign for Giorgio Armani for two reasons. The first reason is because it would be such an honor to represent such a highly regarded label and also because I have noticed that a lot of the campaigns are beauty work, and I love doing beauty shoots.

What does a day in the life of Paris Roberts currenlty consist of consist of?

A lot!! I am currently studying year 11 as well as modeling, so if I am not modelling than I am generally studying. I actually just finished my year 12 biology exam, which will allow me more time to model which is exciting!

What form of modelling do you enjoy most?

I love print, in particular editorial work. I really enjoy the creativity involved and the ability to be able to openly contribute to the final product.

What's next on the modeling agenda for you?

I have no idea!! I have found that with modeling you can only do so much and you have to just let the rest come to you! It is very unpredictable and you can never know what will be next, which can be very exciting! I will most likely work in Melbourne and Sydney for the next couple of months before heading back overseas again.
